Sea of CD’s

In one weekend in june  140 friends of Munro helped to make stunning inland sea made of 600.000 CD’s which are dazzling  like mirrors reflecting sunlight and moonlight.

Munro’s CDsea is the first of a number of self-funded installations using discarded or recycled materials.  After roughly two months in place the installation will be disbanded and all the CD’s sent to a recycling plant.

Hiplife

HomeGrown: HipLife in Ghana is  a documentary by Eli Jacobs-Fantauzzi.  It’s about the rapband V.I.P. (Vision In Progress). The film documents ten years of their journey from the ghetto in Accra to their first international tour.

They grow from being teenagers with a shared dream to musicians with fans around the world.

The record

The forthcoming exhibition The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl at the Nasher Museum of Art explores the culture of vinyl records within the history of contemporary art and the relationship of sound, artistry and vinyl through the works of 41 artists dating back to 1960.

The exhibition brings together artists from around the world who have worked with records as their subject or medium, this groundbreaking exhibition examines the record’s transformative power, from the 1960s to the present.
